Crosely “Director” LP to CD Recorder?
This item says it will record LP’s to CD, but does not have a cassette player to record cassettes to CD. However, it also says you can “play” auxillery electronic devices by plugging into the “Aux In” jack on the front of the machine. I want to record cassettes to CD. Will it record cassettes to CD if I run a line from the headphone jack on the cassette player to the Aux In Jack?
It seems to me it should work, but I’d hate to spend almost $300 to find out it won’t. They have another model that goes for $400 that has the cassette deck, but again, I’m a cheapskate. If I can save $100…why not?

To record easily cassette to CD i would recommend to use a cassette reader that has a headphone output (usually 1/4″). Make yourself a stereo wire with male plugs at each end (1/4″ to 1/8″) plug the 1/8″ in the computer microphone plug, get yourself this free software called Audacity :

You will be able to record each tune separately and control the sound quality much greater then the Crosely.
Cost is about $50 for a good used cassette reader and about $10 dollars for the highest quality wire.
